Another ClinOps New Year

Happy ClinOps New Year!

Last year I migrated over the Lead CRA blog into a new home here at ClinOps Toolkit.  I appreciate your support and for filling 2013 with such wonderful conversation.  Many of you have already subscribed for regular updates – thank you! Here is a link to the recap of one of my favorite ClinOps Toolkit moments in 2013, the launch party last July.

Lead CRA blog has moved to ClinOps Toolkit for a happy ClinOps New Year

Lead CRA blog has moved to ClinOps Toolkit for a happy ClinOps New Year!

Even if this is your first visit here, welcome and Happy ClinOps New Year! For everyone who has followed this project, what are you searching for here that I can help you find?  How can we all become better ClinOps Pros in 2014?

Optimistic About the Future

This year my resolutions will include:

  • Attending industry conferences
  • Learning about new guidances
  • Finding more efficient ways to work and manage clinical trials
  • Communicating more effectively with executives
  • Connecting with more of you!

Look for these topics and more (who knows what I’ll come up with along the way…) in the 2014 blog posts at ClinOps Toolkit.  Plus, I’m hoping to bring in even more guest contributors for some fresh new perspectives in the ClinOps New Year.

Proud of the Past

I took a little walk down memory lane tonight in my blogging time capsule. I looked through the archived posts and had a lot of fun remembering exactly how I was thinking and feeling (kinda giddy!) as I reported in to the blogosphere.  Next week I’ll walk you through some of the most popular blog posts that you selected from 2013 but tonight, I invite you to travel with me back in time to see what I was so excited about in ClinOps New Year’s past:

2009 New Year, New Phone In 2009 I joined the Apple cult, and the love affair continues today (especially with Candy Crush!). A few weeks ago I picked up an iPad mini (that I love!) and you can bet I will be more faithfully and frequently uploading goodies at the ClinOps Toolkit blog as a result. I’m definitely thinking I’ll be getting more done with my fancy new device.

2010 New Year, New Destinations, New Perks OK, so I am still a travel junkie but truthfully, I rarely travel for work anymore.  For me, the travel never got old but I have been earning equity in friends and family rather than loyalty programs all through 2013 and I am feeling wealthier than ever.

2011 New in-House CRA Position 2011 was a huge year of transition for me because I left the familiar world of regional monitoring and started commuting to an actual office and not just my living room or nearest airport.  I still look forward to going in to work everyday and I really enjoy the environment at the office and my co-workers.  At the CRO, it was more challenging to connect with my peers since we were all working together virtually and across different time-zones. My good friend, Luizinha had a great post about working with your virtual teams this Fall. It was even re-published in Applied Clinical Trials (link), an industry journal.

2012 New Forum for Connecting 2012 was a year of many firsts for me but I think time was somehow on fast-forward as the entire year kind of vanished in a blink.  Arena International invited me to give my first professional speaking engagement at the 5th annual Outsourcing in Clinical Trials West Coast. Instead of sharing my ideas and tips within the “safe” confines of the internet, I found myself standing in front of a room of my peers and lots of strangers hoping I could deliver my message effectively. They invited me back the next year so I’d say it went very well, thank you.

2013 Panels, Roundtables, More Networking – oh my! This past year I launched the San Francisco Bay Area ClinOps Toolkit Meetup group and enjoyed getting to know lots of you better through the newsletter, local events, and many other channels for connecting (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube).  I had a blast – let’s do it again in 2014 – only bigger!

Ah, Memories

Well, we’re off to the races – 2014 has begun.  Let’s make some great ClinOps memories.  Together we can make 2014 the best year yet for ourselves and the patients we serve.

Driven by Priorities

Tell me what I can write for you this year on the blog that will help you with your job.  You can tell me here in the comments, send me an email, subscribe to our newsletter updates, or go join the discussion over on Facebook or in the LinkedIn group.  Happy ClinOps New Year to you all!
